Support
Pawl helps you quit something you're struggling with — gambling, adult content, or any distracting app — by blocking it with Apple's Screen Time and making unblocking deliberately hard. Here's help with the most common questions. Can't find what you need? Email support@getpawl.com.
How does Pawl work?
You choose what to block. Pawl shields it with Apple's Screen Time and shows a calm “Locked by Pawl” screen in its place. Unblocking requires a physical USB-C security key (FIDO2, bought separately) you've put out of reach, plus a 15-minute cooling-off timer — so the impulsive choice becomes a deliberate one.
Do I need an account?
No. The blocker works fully without signing in. Signing in with Apple is optional and only enables the sponsor feature — a trusted person who approves your unlock requests and is alerted if your protection is removed.
How do I delete my account?
Open Pawl → Settings → Account → Delete account → confirm. This permanently deletes your account and all cloud data (profile, sponsor link, history, devices, alerts) and can't be undone. If you can't access the app, email privacy@getpawl.com from your account email and we'll delete it for you.
How do I remove Pawl from my phone?
While Pawl is actively protecting you, it intentionally resists being deleted by long-pressing its icon. To remove it completely: open Settings → Screen Time, turn off Screen Time (or remove Pawl under “Apps with Screen Time Access”), then delete Pawl from your Home Screen.
What security key do I need?
Any standard USB-C FIDO2 security key works (for example YubiKey 5C or Google Titan). You buy it separately from any maker — there's no in-app purchase.
